Re: Cottonwood BBS has returned!
In the file transfer section of Cottonwood BBS, I have a a few directories for VIC-20 software. There's a few programs there now, but I could really use everyone's help here to add new programs. If you have programs that you're able to share, please do so!

Re: Borderline BBS
What software are you running? Any VIC-20 support? Borderline BBS is running All American BBS v11.6b software on a C64. No, there's no direct VIC-20 support, but the message bulletin section does have a Commodore Forum that's open for discussion on all Commodore computers. :) (Somewhat related: is ...

Borderline BBS
After a few years of downtime, as of today, Borderline BBS has returned as the world's only dial-up BBS running on a C64! So dust off your modem and give it a call! The new number is 1-951-652-1690. Running 24/7 at 2400 baud. It's a truly 80s telecommunications experience!

Re: Cottonwood BBS has returned!
Sorry, I can't be much help there because I've never used an iPad... But you'll probably need to install a standard Telnet terminal program and connect with ASCII-only.joshuadenmark wrote:What terminal program is perfered when connecting to the BBS using IPad?

Nice VIC lot on eBay
There's a nice lot of VIC items on eBay right now... With a $899.95 Buy It Now price, it's out of my price range, but I thought I'd post the link in case someone here is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290695948427 Included in the lot is an early VIC-20 with "PET keys" and a VIC-1540 (...

Frank, changing the device number on a 1541 drive is pretty easy, but you're right, the 1541 manual doesn't exactly make it very clear on how it's done. You may find these instructions a bit clearer:

I just added a new way to connect to both Cottonwood BBS and Cottonwood II. You can now connect from a web browser with FlashTerm. This is a great way to connect that does not require any additional software to be installed other than a flash-capable browser, perfect for when you're using a public c...

Nice! I have problems to register with Swedish phonenumber. I get Invalid number. Just register any phone number in the format xxx-xxx-xxxx ... it doesn't really matter what number you use, as long as you remember what number you put. AA BBS uses the phone number as a backup ID, in the event that y...

One BBS is offline and another is online
For the past few years, I've been running what has been, for most of that time, the only Commodore-run dial-up BBS anywhere in the world. Borderline BBS has been running on a C64 in my home in southern California, and while it has never received a huge volume of calls, it has had calls from all over...
