Important Changes to Denial effective immediately
By order of U.S. District Court I have been asked to announce changes for the Denial website and forum. It is my understanding that we have been illegally exchanging intellectual property rights with one another in the form of amateur game programs and demos.
We are no longer allowed to give away these programs for free. From now on user-created programs may only be provided to other members with a verified monetary exchange. You are now required to charge at the very least a nominal fee for any program you have written and would like to make available to the community using PayPal or other approved services.
These rules apply to any program the contains ideas or visual imagery that appear similar to any preexisting idea. That includes software that requires the use of vintage joysticks, keyboards, or monitors/televisions. This also includes game mechanics such as the use of "jumping", "mazes", or "shooting". You did not invent these ideas or devices, so you are not allowed to make use of them without the expressed written consent of their respective inventors.
Thank you.

I thought that legislation was stopped after the Wikipedia Blackout because Congress was flodded with protest letters.Jeff-20 wrote:Since SOPA and PIPA, I've been seeing gaming forums shut down everywhere. Almost all of them had an ISO section, but instead of removing the section the entire forum was closed.
In Sweden we say "April April din dumma sill, jag kan lura dig vart jag vill" which means "April April you stupid herring, I can fool you to where ever I want to".eslapion wrote:
In french, April fool's day is called poisson d'avril which literally means "April's fish".

Nice one, Jeff.
I was wondering, "Does the U.S. District Court really have nothing better to do???"

Haha! I wasn't fooled at all. I stopped reading after two sentences when I got that it was a joke...
