I can't really compare this year to anything, but It's exciting to see the Vic-20 so alive in 2009. Considering all the hardware releases, 2009 has been fantastic. And like rhurst said, all this new hardware is making software development very easy. We've had over 32 software releases listed -- twic...

A very good idea, Mike. This would also simplify shifting the snow down since the last row of each character would be right next to the first row of the next character down. Row-organized, it is 128 bytes away from the character beneath it. I'm happy to know there's someone examining my humble proje...

Thanks guys :).
You can press the fire button and move the joystick on the snow effect to see something that I almost got working fully.

Christmas demo

Runs unexpanded. I will not blame you if you turn the volume off :D. I just made this demo to say thanks to everyone here at Denial. Happy holidays everyone.

I found a C2N at a local thrift store. This is the first time I've ever seen a Commodore product at a store, so I was really excited. It was $4, which I thought was a bit much considering it was untested, but when I opened the box I found it to be in very good physical condition. That doesn't mean i...

Haha :D, I showed this video to a couple of friends of mine in January and "A VIC 20!!!?" is still an inside joke amongst us.

This is exciting! I assume that you want payment through the donate button on Denial's main page? I noticed that after waiting for a game to load, I'm more likely to explore its finer details; unlike the average 2.5 seconds I give to roms via emulation. I completely agree. When I downloaded Gamebase...

I'd be interested. I think it's really cool that the Vic-20 is seeing a lot of new releases. And like carlsson said, $10 is comparable to the price of fast food (that's how I always justify purchases in this price range :D )

Gabriel Angelos, The VIC is inside the shield. The shield comes off really easily though. No special tricks or tools needed (assuming it is like my cost reduced model, which indeed seems to be what you are describing). So, yeah just pull it off :). I've heard it's a good idea to keep the shield off ...

It's not a problem with VICE. I just tested it on my NTSC vic and it looked just like the screenshot you posted.

Great work! It seems I'm a little rusty on my bones, but not for long :D. I have a lot of respect for the big Vic-20 projects, but seeing things like this really make me smile. I wish software like this was used at school. It would make learning much more fun. When I finish my game (might be a while...

I'm definitely going to have to buy a Mega-Cart so I can play this. ROQ III looks incredible. saehn is doing an outstanding job on the splash screen, and the screens for the other games add some unity to the various titles I think. Great work. I know nothing of wrestling, so I unfortunately cannot a...

I must see now how the joystick is read on the vic20... You will probably understand how it is from Mike's link. But if you want further information, there is a good section in the VIC-20 Programmers Reference Guide that covers reading the joystick in more depth. You can find a txt version of the b...
