It's by the same creator too ... Steven Lee wrote the game before he re-did it for Virgin Games under the name of Falcon Patrol. Falcon Patrol looks pretty much the same, but has a few enhancements (Though not many).
Probably not i'm afraid ... It seems that Steve first did work for Quicksilva on the Vic 20, then moved over to Virgin Games to do the likes of Falcon Patrol.
I think he may have done "Mission Mercury" first for Virgin, then went on to do the Falcon, Hideous Bill games. Probably Virgin saw his talents on the Vic and encouraged him to move onto the C64.
Would be great to track Steve down, I loved Falcon Patrol!
Can`t disagree on that one Frank, I still play it now and then. FPII is even better IMO.
I´m a newbie in the VIC20 world, but I think SkyHawk is one of the best games I´ve seen for this gem of a computer.
Sorry for dredging up such an old thread, I found it when I was googling for something else!
I love Skyhawk, always have done. Did the same chap also write Tornado?
My copy of Skyhawk is 3K expanded one side and 8K expanded the other. I assume they're both the same but have had memory locations adjusted to suit different memory configs? Maybe I'll try the 3K version later.
If 16K had been used, I wonder how close they could have got to the C64 version, which is quite an improvement. Falcon Patrol 2 looks even better. Blue Thunder also looks good.
Skyhawk is probably one of the best looking VIC 20 games that I have ever seen.

Yes.

Yes. I don't have many games in GB20 that exhibited this consideration.
