I dreamt a few nights ago that I had found in a thrift shop an early working prototype of a VIC 64, it had the same keyboard as a VIC but with extra function keys alongside the power light. It also ran the full library of VIC20 as well as C64 software.
Not quite the computer of your dreams, but....

For the record, it seems to have been called VIC-64 for a short while all around the world, before Commodore settled on calling it Commodore 64 a short while before it was presented.

Again not VIC related, but I dreamt (dreamed) last night that I was driving down a street, it was "garbage day" and I found a pile of old computers. A wierd PET, some 1541s and a Commodore printer like DigitalQuirk has (his C64 picture must have influenced me) in a pile by the side of a road. There was also another wierd third-party printer with holes were the Commodore serial ports should be, but they were blocked, almost like the way STAR Micronics offered their printer models with and without Commodore ports.

And yes, Carlsson, I do remember that around 1982 that computer talk in the school-yard was all about new new, mysterious VIC-64 that Commodore was about to release.

I think in this thread, anything Commodore goes as long as it was part of a dream. But it is true, I've barely had a dream about C64 or any other C= machine, just VIC-20.

As far as I'm concerned, A C64 is a Vic 20 with more memory, a more sophisticated sound chip, and more sophisticated video capabilities. In other words, it's a "Vic 20 Deluxe."

And the VIC-20 was a colour PET.
The PET was a transmogrified KIM-1.
The KIM-1 was little more than a super calculator.
The calculator was a super abacus.
The abacus, a super way of arranging rocks.
Rocks, a superb replacement for fingers once you've run out of them.
Fingers, an evolutionary replacement for fins or flippers..

..anything before that and my Commodore history is a little hazy

Last night, I had a dream that my Vic 20 was actually a small, white underpowered hatchback that I'd been storing in my garage since the 1980's, and I decided to take it out for a spin.

I have had dreams that I had kept my first car, which was a small, silver underpowered hatchback, and it's usually in my parent's garage. I'm thinking my Vic dreams and this type of dream are running in together.

I think it's because they're cheap to buy, cheap on gas, cheap to maintain, and can haul an awful lot of big items with the back seats folded down - just perfect for a single person starting out.

Why does Radio Shack ask for your address when you're buying batteries? I don't know.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Why does Radio Shack offer you the extended warranty on things like cordless phone batteries?

Radio Shack offers extended warranty on things like cordless phone batteries because things like cordless phone batteries rarely, if ever, fail prior to the end of this extended warranty; so they (radio shack) essentially are charging more for batteries than they ought to.

Radio Shack asks for your address because they can sell your information for a tiny little bit of profit.

For the record, they're not Radio Shack anymore; they're the Source. Since they've been the source, they've been peddling their "Extended warranty," they've been asking for your address for a mailing list for selling, and they suck. 8)
