Hello,
For those who might be interested or in the market for a tape emulation add-on for their VIC (or other additional machines), I have produced a number of units available for sale. SVI-CAS may be purchased in a light grey or "Sinclair" black finished cased with a number of optional adapter leads depending upon your intended host machine. Unlike all the arduino based tape emulators for Commodore machines I've seen so far, SVI-CAS correctly emulates C2N tape deck behavior.
If you would like a copy of the 130 page owners manual which details the specifications / capabilities of the unit or if interested in purchasing I may be contacted at my normal info / sales email address of svi_projects@protonmail.com
Any questions may also obviously be posted here, but due to the breadth of support SVI-CAS provides a copy of the owners manual may be the better option. Please note that my camera can't seem to cope with photographing the TFT display properly and hence the colours appear washed out in places.
Thanks

Re: SVI-CAS Tape Emulation Units Available
Hello All,
Contrary to what I have seen posted elsewhere very recently by other people, this is not an arduino based device.
Accordingly it supports TAP, T64, PRG, and P00 image types for the Commodore machines and sports a turbo loader for each of the VIC / C64 / C16 families of machines.
Thanks

How does the platform/api used to program it matter anyway?

I'm just a Software Guy who has no Idea how the Hardware works. Don't listen to me.
Re: SVI-CAS Tape Emulation Units Available
Arduino is the sum of its parts.
Re: SVI-CAS Tape Emulation Units Available
I know what Arduino is
I just don't see how it matters - at all.

I'm just a Software Guy who has no Idea how the Hardware works. Don't listen to me.
Re: SVI-CAS Tape Emulation Units Available
It matters heaps when it comes to end product performance requirements.
Re: SVI-CAS Tape Emulation Units Available
Hu? Are you confusing the Platform/API with some specific Microcontroller or Board? (Eg Arduino is available for the RP2040 and RP2350 - which has more than enough performance for this kind of thing. Actually it is hopelessly overpowered for it.)It matters heaps when it comes to end product performance requirements.
