I found Jeff's book when I got the Commodore News Pages in the mail this week, https://commodore-news.com/news/item/11744/en/desktop .
I've ordered it and am looking forward to it!

Re: 1541 Emulation
I use Droid64 to copy .prg-files to and from .d64-images.
It's a Java GUI. I run it by entering
$ java -jar ./droid64-0.15b.jar
in a terminal, in the directory with the droid64 program.

Re: THE C64: Vic20 CJM files ?
I made a rookie mistake: Windows was hiding file extensions, so my file was named vicdisk.cjm.txt in stead of vicdisk.cjm. I found out when I plugged the USB in a Linux system. And fixed the file names there. On TheC64, I insert the disk image, choose the 'run' option with the rocket, and then the c...

Re: THE C64: Vic20 CJM files ?
I tried cjm-files with just a single line: X:vic,pal,bank0,bank1,bank2,bank3,bank5 and: X:vic,pal,35k with the same name as a .d64-file. But it doesn't do anything. Inserting the .d64 and going to the VIC, pressing the 'run' button on the image, or resetting the VIC just keeps it at 3.5KB. The image...

The 8-bit guy has a review up on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxx2F4ffmeE The keyboard's insides is rather underwhelming! Added edit: 8-Bit Show And Tell says there is a way to enable the REU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2GACGEucTI See at 31:36 A longer look at the TheC64, thanks! ...

Sorry to hear he passed away.
I hope to continue using his 65xx! His processor was the basis for my learning about computers, and the work I do nowadays.

Re: Commodore News Page closes doors :(
I found and followed Commodore News Page through Google plus, the then-alternative to Facebook.
I wonder if the closing of Google plus lead to diminished use of Commodore News Page, and if that's why he stopped.
Can someone reach the author? He might like to join over here.

Re: Commodore News Page closes doors :(
I used to visit the Commodore News Page regularly because it was linked to me on Google+. But lost sight of it when Google+ became emptier and then closed.
Now I regret not having kept up with it...

Re: VIC 20 Hardware Prototype
The white cable is visible at the right hand side of the TV. It goes to something outside the picture. I see a black cable there, that might loop over the edge of the table and then to the TV. At left I think I see the grain of the edge of a photograph printed with the outside of the negative includ...

Re: How do you make a demo?
I'm looking into this Pascal compiler's tutorial to learn some things: http://www.lemonspawn.com/turbo-rascal-syntax-error-expected-but-begin/downloads/ Maybe it can help you as well. Thnaks, there's two things I don't really know, and they're both important for demos! 1. If you created your own vi...

Re: Less than 2 weeks to the April 27-28 Commodore Los Angeles Super Show!
That's rather a long way away from me, but I hope you people have fun! Yes, we had fun! :) I'd be curious to hear about VIC20 stuff demonstrated there. Unfortunately, the VIC-20 went down (as did a number of other machines), and I was not able to show anything on it. :( I did not bring a back-up VI...
