Just wondering/daydreaming...
I think it would be possible to use a PIC microcontroller to connect a PC USB port at one end and the Vic 20 datassette port at the other end and use the PC as a datassette emulator. I think a floppy emulator might be possible as well, but way more complex than just emulating a few push buttons (play, record, etc) and tape data.
Any comments? Not that I'd have the time to do it, but just wondering about the faisability.
