VIC-20 Christmas Demos?

Post by alexjlopez »

Hello all,

Has anyone by chance archived the various Christmas demos for VIC-20 that have been shared here over the years? I searched the board and all of the posts I found had broken/non-working links. I do have the ones from Zimmers.

If you have any you'd like to share and could post a link, that would be great. It would be a shame for them to be lost to history. My apologies if I missed a post that lists them all.

It's getting close to that time of year again. There's no reason the C-64 should get all the holiday attention!

Thanks!

Salvatore "Tore" Saver71 of the VIC 20 Italian community released a great Christmas demo back in October: https://superottanta.blogspot.com/2022/ ... vic20.html

The page is in Italian, but I guess you'll figure out with automatic translation.

'tis the time of year - I can't remeber ever seeing a top tier Christmas demo for the Vic. Seen a few attempts written in BASIC etc, (no disrespect) but nothing with high quality graphics, 3-voice music and aninmations similar to the 8 bit ones in above link.

Perhaps a bit late for this year, but maybe we can come up with something for next. We have a few new tools at our disposal like Turbo RASCAL etc that should ease the burden.

I might take a look next year if I have time using my Popeye engine as it has a kind of scripting language I could leveage for the animations. Most of the time would be spent drawing the graphics and doing the music
