FOUND! - Missing Amiga software for scanner Sharp JX-450 (ScanLab)
I was recently donated a Sharp JX-450 scanner along with an ASDG Twin-X GPID interface board.
These were the holy grail back in the early 90s in the Amiga desktop publishing arena. This scanner was capable of scanning documents up to 11x17" and was worth about 5000$.
The catch is, I got all the hardware WITHOUT the necessary software or drivers and it is nowhere to be found on the internet.
I would love to see this monster back in operation and hook it up to my Amiga 3000. Can anyone help?

Did ImageFX support this scanner?

I have absolutely no clue.ral-clan wrote:Did ImageFX support this scanner?
I just have the hardware and I vaguely remember seeing some advertisement for the card/scanner combo in AmigoTimes.
They were so expensive very few people bought this kind of stuff. However, I remember you could also buy the less expensive Twin-X / JX-300 combo. Same card, same software, smaller scanner. Price tag around 3000$ instead of 5000$.

It seems ASDGs ScanLab software supported this printer. They were better known for Art Department Pro.

ASDG is the company that made the Twin-X board. Does ScanLab include drivers for the Twin-X ? Where can you get this software?ral-clan wrote:It seems ASDGs ScanLab software supported this printer. They were better known for Art Department Pro.

I'm afraid I don't know. I've only found information by Googling your scanner's name with the keyword Amiga and ASDG attached.
I would try and look in the English Amiga Board's "The Zone" and FTP area. They have lots of archived applications, and I remember seeing some scanning software archived there. There are instructions on how to gain access online if you search.
Other than that I'd put a request on Amiga.org for this software.

Considering my past history with Amiga.org there is absolutely no way I'm ever going to log on there again.
However, I think ScanLab can be found in the TOSEC collections.

After examining the manual for the Twin-X board, it appears the ScanLab software IS the driver.
NO, it is not in the TOSEC Amiga productivity collection (0.23).
So... I am looking for ASDG's Professional ScanLab.
Anyone?

I have been on Lemon Amiga but I am wary of other Amiga boards considering a very negative experience I had a few years ago.

Does Compu-Art ring a bell?
I chatted with Rick Rock this week. He's now a teacher at John Abbot College and sent me an installed version of Adpro with 2 versions of ScanLab.
Maybe its missing libraries but who knows...

Hello there!
I have the software you seek! If you're still looking for it?
I found the disk recently and i'm in the process of setting up a JX300 scanner. I was researching it a bit online and saw your post. I've got a zip archive of the disk if you'd like me to email it or upload it somewhere.
