It is a good source of info on the C128 platform and several members are located in Australia

Not unless you modify the Amiga p.s.. An Amiga p.s. outputs 5 and 12 volts DC; the C128 p.s. outputs 5V DC and 9V AC.GreyGhost wrote:...an Amiga power supply works well too for the 128.

It has maybe blown a fuse inside, or possibly smokes things you connect to the user port.GreyGhost wrote:It does work. Might be messing up the 128?

(for C64, substitute C128)
"Loss of the 9VAC will produce a blank screen on early C64s even though the red LED is on and the +5 volts is normal. Because the circuitry inside the later C64C is different, loss of the 9VAC or an open fuse inside the C64C will still allow the computer to work! However, you will not have sound, the cassette will not work, and there will be no TOD clock source for the CIA chips, so some programs may not work."

Ah, that is not a PSU problem.Nathan wrote:UPDATE: Found the PSU yesterday and the C128 works but it has garbled characters on the 128 mode, and an out of memory in 0 error in 64 mode
Check Ray Carlsen's C128 diagnostic page at
