High Score Page
I'm experimenting with a High Score page for Denial. Anyone can insert scores in the proper sequence by just pressing edit in the appropriate section. Let me know if you have any ideas to improve it.

Should I include dates? I don't find them necessary. I figured there shouldn't be a limit on how many scores are posted. If I'm not in the top 5 or 10, I probably wouldn't add my score.
How do I make a more compact (horizontal) table of contents?

I've updated with Highscores I found on the forum. I figured it will be easier for a user to edit once we have a title in each letter section. If anyone wants to help, there are more high scores in this thread:

Perhaps we should perfect the format before adding too many score entries. Are there "spacers", a way to tab over the player name and keep the board a little neater?

You can't use tabs as browsers will condense them down to a single space. Instead, use non-breaking spaces by adding " " for each space you want. That's why you're only seeing one space in the Wiki even though you've got two in the editor. I added five spaces to the entries in the "C" section (har har) to give you an idea of what it looks like. BTW, I think you should lose the parentheses.Jeff-20 wrote:Are there "spacers", a way to tab over the player name and keep the board a little neater?

I'm not keen on the italics. What I would do is this:
Now that I think of it, it wouldn't be all that hard to set it up so that the username links to the user's forum page. Better yet, we should put the GB20 online and link all the games to the entries. That would be very useful.

1. Me still no likey italics.
2. Are we standardizing on using a lowercase or capital L in level? You've got both going (see Gridrunner and Serpentine).
3. You probably don't want to hear this but this is the perfect application for a table.

Ketchup and mustard in the same bottle. It's gold.Jeff-20 wrote:any other ideas?

Look now. It's rough but it gives you an idea of what's possible and it can be prettied up and simplified considerably (think one big table with alphabetical jump points). Everything you need to know is here and here, BTW.Jeff-20 wrote:Can you give an example in one section?

Feel free. I don't mind ditch digging but I'll be damned if I'm going to fill it in.Jeff-20 wrote:Revert! Revert!

These things tend to be neater and tidier when a table is used and the table itself can be made to be less prominent. In fact, it could be done without borders so that it doesn't appear to be a table per se but maintains a coherent structure. Ultimately this may be closest to what I think it is you've got in mind.
Alternately, it could be done like the Scorelord.
