Carts

Post by daveman »

Hey all,

just saw IFR Flight Simulator go for $67 American on eBay! Just goes to show how relative value is....I would have paid $30 but that was my limit at the time.

Anyone have a really good find lately?

I've been wanting to work out a trade system for tapes. I was doing it with my own games. Just recording it as a wav file, compressing it and making it available here.

I managed to pay $30.00 for a lot of Vic-20 carts. In which the following were sealed new. Donkey Kong, Pole Position, Defender, Robotron, and Galaxian. I looked up Galaxian via the Digital Press Guide and the Galaxian cart only with no box or instructions is worth $30.00. Its listed as an R8 as a stand alone cart. A sealed complete version must be worth a lot more. Needless to say, I won't be opening any of those packages any time soon. :)

In the Digital Press Guide an R8 = We consider these the items you'll never find by chance (except in those legendary luck finds).

I cannot believe how much cartridges have gone up in price (if the Digital Press price guide is to be believed ---- I am very skeptical). I am glad I got most of my cartridges in the mid to late 1990s when the prices were 25 cents to $3 for a loose one and $5 to $8 for a boxed one.

I do believe Ward overvalued many of them in his time doing the section. I've dragged quite a lot of them down a fair bit since taking over ;)

Mikham must've just got a big stash in the mail. He's now in "brag-mode"; check out the other posts with pics of rare items.

If nothing else, IFR - which the first post in this thread was about - is in his picture. I think he put together a few of the more rare carts he owns, as he has written about both Chatterbox and in the other thread The Final Chess Cartridge (and maybe many more) previously. Maybe a new digital camera and/or image host? :-)
