I just want to give a little more amateur advice on this process; refer to the Retr0brite Wiki for actual reliable information..... The formula calls for mixing peroxide with Xanthan gum to thicken it and make it cling to parts. The stupid rednecks around here had no idea what Xanthan gum is, and lo...
I am pretty confused about the color of the F-keys, on both the Vic-20 and the C-64. The box for my Vic-20 has a picture of the system with dark yellow/tan F-keys, but those grey F-keys look exactly like both of my Commodore 64s. I like to browse at systems on Ebay (sick from of entertainment) and I...
I know this may be old hat for you, but I have recently been disassembling, cleaning and de-yellowing, and reassembling 8-bit computers.....because it's too hot outside and I can do this under the air conditioner!!! I did 3 Atari 800XLs, and one Vic-20. The 800XLs were not really noticably yellowed,...

Thanks very much for this information. I looked on an Atari that *does* have split composite, and it still only has 5 pins! So I guess that means the Atari 8-bit/Commdore 64 cable compatibility is limited to "regular" composite cables, since the C64 has more pins to do the split composite....
I have searched the threads, but I'm just not getting it, and maybe I need a superior intellect to help me put the pieces together. I hardly see "Vic-20" monitor cables. I understand it's not "split composite" or S-video - just composite. I see monitor cables that claim to be for...
I placed my order a day or 2 ago. I got one confirmation email but no bill. If the boss it reading, consider my order "serious" and I shall certainly pay promptly upon request. I don't know if products can possibly come more feature-packed than Mega Cart, but I certainly doubt it! What kin...
