This does work with the VIC-20 in "standalone mode" so I hope it is appropriate to list here, as well.

From a VIC-20 standpoint, it's basically a more sophisticated uIEC/SD. If you have a C64, it enables you to play/run larger files/more advanced games.

No. 1541u is the one and only perfect 1541 replacement available.
It is same for C64 and VIC. But on a VIC you need to support the 1541u with power (5V or USB).
