Rotary dial numpad for VIC-20 (and C64)
Hello, I want to inform you about my latest project: a rotary dial numpad for the VIC-20 and C64. Now you may think I'm gone completely crazy as this makes no sense at all, but that's part of the fun in this project. I made a small video for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hngsjan92Y The build ...

"joystick killer games" for the VIC20?
Hi, I recently made a controller for playing decathlon and crank crank revolution on the C64. Decathlon is known to be a "joystick killer game" (well if you have a cheap joystick), now I want to know if there are such games for the VIC-20. You know, those kind of games where you need to wi...

Re: It's working! Full motion video on a VIC-20 (+3K)
Hi Topcat, could you be a little bit more specific about the "echo" you seem to hear? But rest assured, all audio is really coming from the monitor connected to the VIC20. The youtube video was made with a low cost camera, on an attic, using the cameras build in microphone the sound was re...

Stack Light Rifle -> tommygun + suitcase project
Hello, a while ago I made some extra parts for my Stack Light Rifle (well actually it's a look-a-like as there were many of these kind of guns in that time period). I made the drum magazine, the extra handle, the longer barrel. Some 3D printed, some MDF and a piece of 16mm grey PVC pipe (painted bla...

Re: It's working! Full motion video on a VIC-20 (+3K)
Hoi Mike, funny... I never noticed the pixels not being really square. But I should have known. I was so caught up in getting it to work and made it look like modern widescreen format that I didn't even notice it even when the pixel calculation showed a different ratio then what I experienced on the...

Re: It's working! Full motion video on a VIC-20 (+3K)
The VIC-20 I own is a PAL machine but I can't see any reason why this should not be working on an NTSC machine. I'm not sure if it is possible to get an NTSC machine to work with a 24x10 double height character mode. If it does, then it should work "out of the box". The chosen resolution i...

It's working! Full motion video on a VIC-20 (+3K)
Hello, I've just posted a video (see the link below) where I demonstrate full motion video on a VIC-20 (does require a 3K expansion). I'm super proud of this achievement as I believe that this has never been done before on a VIC-20, so I decided to make a video and share it with you all on this foru...

Re: VIC 20 adaptive expansion cartridge up to +123K
My compliments for making this project, however I was wondering about compatibility issues. Because the project is a RAM expansion, so that you can load games that require more RAM. You can have RAM all across the 64KByte area, which is great for all sorts of reasons. And switching the functionality...

Re: Bluetooth Vic20
Hello Adrian, I totally agree about the vic-voder. You also have a point when you mention "gaining satisfaction making the things" and "offering a service to the community". Making the schematic and source code available isn't of use to many VIC-20 users, some simply don't have t...

Re: Bluetooth Vic20
Hello Beamrider, I really like the idea of playing back samples stored on the phone. I haven't really thought about selling these devices because I didn't think that many people would care to buy it. But, if I'd think about it now then what would be the max cost? Parts cost is one thing this doesn't...

Re: Release: Pooyan
Wow, I've just seen the pooyan game on youtube, I have very fond memories of this game on the C64.
How nice to see that it is now for the VIC20.
GREAT JOB! Thanks.

Re: Bluetooth Vic20
Hello, I would like to inform you about a project I finished during the X-mas holidays. I tidied it up a little bit and made a small webpage describing it. I was announced on http://commodore.hcc.nl a little while ago. I'm also trying to get it posted on hackaday but for some reason they don't seem ...
