I would join when this virus ends but fresno is a long way and my mother would have to drive me. Would i need an actual Vic?

No, you don't need an actual VIC-20 to join our group. We usually have a VIC-20 at the meeting, anyway. However, due to shelter-in-place rules here in California, it would appear that our May meeting is cancelled, too.
