Manuals in other languages

Does anyone know which languages the VIC user manual was published in? There are screenshots online (and in the Denial Wiki) of German, Dutch, French, Italian, Swedish and Spanish versions, but which other ones (if any) exists, and are there PDFs of any of them online? I looked for half an hour or so, and only found a pdf of the German one.

I keep mine. I just checked a couple of sites which may have had pdfs, but they haven't. I don't own a scanner anymore.

It's sad that these aren't readily available, it would be interesting to compare them with the original English ones. There seems to be a huge amount of VIC books, magazines and software available in English, but much less other languages.

The reason I was interested in this question is that I ran into an online copy of what looks like the equivalent of the Programmer's Reference Guide in Swedish released by Handic, the Swedish Commodore distributor, but it is very different to the English language one. It's called the VIC20 Color Computer Programming Handbook, and covers a lot of what the PRG does, but is rather different. Does anyone know if this was the equivalent of the PRG, or just another book released with a very similar intent?

I became curious whether manuals in other languages were different too, or just translations.

To my knowledge, a ton of the scans that exist today were done by relatively few people. It's a tedious task and there is a bit of a learning curve to producing good scans.

The user manual I think it was a good translation. I think the BASIC course was a good translation too. I didn't keep it, I recall it was photocopies bounded without a proper cover.

(I don't know why are the pictures upside down, I've rotated and uploaded again)

I wonder what are the largest language groups using the VIC 20 now. This board obviously attracts English users, but from bilinguals, we can deduce there may be significant numbers of German, Italian, Swedish, and (Canadian) French users. What else?

Spaniards :D

I perfectly remember the manual posted by Javierglez. When a few years ago I got my old VIC-20 back from my mom’s house, I sadly found that the manual was gone. I was almost sure that it came with the manual in spanish and that was confirmed by Javier’s post. I also remember the name of that company (Microelectrónica y Control) that, I guess, was the importing company for Commodore in Spain and, probably, took care of the spanish translation.

Cheers

In the Netherlands there is no need for Dutch manuals. Every Dutchman learns English thouroughly at school.
