Actually, the (mockup) Elite screen would fit into a window of the GUIorion70 wrote:I just downloaded the (mockup) VIC screenshot of Elite, and now this VEOS or something - and it's already working! Thanks for this, I can't wait to show VIC windows to my friends.

The program could activate the new top-most window after destroying a window, which is quite easy to implement. It would imply when you select something from the menu window, which opens a new window:Vic20-Ian wrote:Fantastic, look forward to moving the windows around and to having focus return to last window after closing one.
1 - menu window closes
2 - new top-most window is activated and redrawn
3 - frame is hidden again if the new frame needs its character memory
4 - new frame shows up
ATM, I am not sure if the extra steps (2&3) would be too annoying and how to avoid them in a general way. Perhaps a flag that is set when closing a frame and reset when a new frame is created. The main loop could check that flag and activate the top-most frame, if that flag is set.

PAL Emulation is just a display filter, BTW. It's kind of similar to the scanlines setting in that it alters the way the emulated C64 output looks. It doesn't affect any of the system timings, however. You can have VICE set to a Video Standard of NTSC and still turn on PAL Emulation.Jeff-20 wrote:D'oh. I just had PAL emulation on, but I forgot to check VIDEO STANDARD to make sure it was PAL too. Fixed now. Thanks.
Now I can't seem to pull up the task manager window...
Nevermind if you already knew that.

I have added NTSC support (24x30, probably too big) and screen refresh sync.
Would be great if somebody with access to an NTSC-Vic could test it:
