Dig Dug PAL version
Does anyone know where I can get a Dig Dug PAL version for the VIC from? I have the NTSC version, but on my PAL VIC it runs way too fast.

Not sure there is a PAL version, I don't know how many of the Atarisoft games were sold in Europe. You do see the multi language box versions which are the European release (as opposed to just the English only) but I've not seen all 12 games in that format in my travels.

Ahh what a pity. It's a great convert, but it's running just that extra bit too fast to be enjoyable.

The CPU of a PAL VIC-20 runs at 17.7344MHz divided by 16. That's 1.1084 MHz.naujoks wrote:Ahh what a pity. It's a great convert, but it's running just that extra bit too fast to be enjoyable.
On the other hand, the CPU of a NTSC VIC-20 runs at 14.31818MHz divided by 14. That's 1.02 MHz.
This makes a PAL VIC-20 8.6% faster than it's NTSC counterpart.
However, I do remember, back around 2007, I installed a small counter circuit which slows down a VIC to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16 its normal speed.
Let's just say this made it considerably easier to visit all levels of Shamus.
Be normal.

I have a boxed copy of DIG DUG with German stickers on the box, so I assume it is PAL, certainly doesn't seem too fast on PAL machine.

The PAL versions of a lot of carts are not yet dumped (or I haven't seen them).
Please dump it!
