I read that the Revision 1 VIC 20s have separate NTSC and PAL versions, with the PAL ones sporting extra traces on the board. The Revision 2 boards were more harmonized so it was possible to have either video standard on them depending on the crystal and 6560 / 6561 IC used.
I only have spare Rev 1 boards and I want to convert one of them to PAL and S-Video. I found this on Zimmers:
https://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm ... -NTSC.html
So I can see the Rev 1 conversion from PAL to NTSC. Do I just perform the reverse of this to go from NTSC to PAL?

I reckon there is a large body of knowledge already accessible here available via the [Search... ] box with the magnifying glass to the right of it above. GOOD LUCK! -OGM

Personally, I think such conversions are just too bad. I would also like to get hold of an NTSC device, but you don't really get it in this country. I would like to exchange my working fully equipped PAL board for NTSC board.gordonf wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 6:58 am I read that the Revision 1 VIC 20s have separate NTSC and PAL versions, with the PAL ones sporting extra traces on the board. If you're serious about this I'll consider it. I have to get my NTSC board working first - the VIC 20 was recovered from a cat-infested location.TheVic20User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 12:52 pm I would like to exchange my working fully equipped PAL board for NTSC board.
What revision of PAL board are you considering swapping? If it's a Rev 2 board I'll need the RF shield underside as well so it will mount in a case.

If the board works, I would do it. I have the original first PAL board with 2pin plug. However, I come from Germany. Unfortunately, I don't know what the shipping costs would be. And if it would be worth it for us.
