Well there you go, I got 10th out of a possibel 20 4k entries. Have to say I am pretty happy with that - being my first effort and all. Furthermore even I will admit the game itself isn't that exciting. I originally had no intention of making a tron style game (mostly just wanted to check out the vi...

Good on you mike for having a go ... I have to admit I wasn't sure about the difficulty level. Still probably arn't. I currently have an extra life awarded at level 15. I am thinking I should add one at level 10 aswell. I just had a quick belt and got to level 8, but I wrote it and I know some of th...

VIC-LC (VIC Light Cycle game)
Somehow (when writing a follow up to my own post) I managed to nuke my original post about my 4k mini-game entry (VIC-LC for the VIC-20).
Oh well, no worries.
All I was wondering, was if anyone had had a chance to have a go ?
Any feedback welcomed (good or bad).

All good stuff guys. I have to say, what, this must be my first vic-20 programming of any kind in 20 years ! And my first machine code programming (well, anything worthwhile anyway) - its been an experience, I have and am learning so much. I do seem to have vague memories of reading somewhere (don't...

Can Screen or Char memory go into expansion memory ..
Currently working on a little proggy using bitmapped mode. I have the screen memory set at $1200, and the char memory set at $1400. Using 20x12x16, the char mem finishes at $2080, which goes into expansion ram. Everything works great in VICE, but tonight for the first time I loaded my proggy up on t...

I think it best to format the screen as as bytes running top to bottom then right to left... Hey curtis, forgive my ignorance but is there any advantage to going top to bottom, then left to right, over left to right, then top to bottom. I am using user defined gfx, for a bitmapped display on my cur...

Anders, yeah apols mate, I probably should have said, I am having to learn again - having not done any assembler before. Although in some respects, being a senior software engineer, the actual art of coding at work has become somewhat mundane lately. I have been working as a softie for about 14 year...
