KingTrode / Jim Thanks :-) On a side note, I'd like to know if anybody get it to 100 :) Fun little game and my max is 77 lol. thanks! a little strategy which sho...

Re: [Port] Vice Vic-20 for Android
This emulator, which I compiled, is based on SDL, a graphic library often used for linux ports to android. In order to make the best use of android interface I would need to code native support onto VICE: I'd really love to but it would take months of free time which I do not have :-) In fact this i...

I'm pretty sure there is no advertising in it. Probably your APK has been modified by someone.
Please try installing it from the market and let me know.

Really?groepaz wrote:*everyone* except the GNU/FSF/OSI drones use "open source" like that.
This page:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/openness/licenses.aspx
Is on Microsoft website and says Microsoft open source licenses are OSI approved.

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
groepaz what you are saying is true, microsoft is calling opensource something, but the common OSS definition is another, just that. Chill down :-) I don't understand why you want to find bullshit everywhere. We are on a friendly forum and I've got nothing against you, I just use the term differentl...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
I'm not contradicting myself nor mixing up. I'm saying very simple things. The definition of open source software is one, then if you have another I don't care. I know pretty well that there are companies using OSS and not following the licenses, this is pretty common. Anyway, I fear we are wasting ...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
even mr. stallmann doesnt confuse "open source" and "free open source software" like you do. so yes, indeed. (actually you can read lengthy blurbs about how these two are different right on the fsf site) I didn't say Open source software = free software, I just said OSS can be h...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
You will get a clearer picture if you read about FOSS. You are probably confusing FREE in "free software" with "at no cost" no, i am not. "open source" is not the same as FOSS. you are confusing "open source" with whatever those FOSS drones came up with. and ...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
only because its written in wikipedia it doesnt mean its not bullshit, really. (and if you read that article its quite clear its full of FOSS FUD - as always look at the "talk" page and you'll find some valueable info) open source means that you may look at the source of the software, no ...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
It's the same I'm saying: software which is opensource must be available as source for free. What you build upon it may not, but that's a different story, and changes based on the type of license. no and no. there is/was tons of opensource commercial unix software where source is only available to ...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
open source means free: even if somebody sells it (rightfully or not) the source must always be available for free. not at all - it entirely depends on the license of course. BSD license for example allows you to do pretty much whatever you want with the source, including using it in your own comme...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
The great thing about Linux distros is that you don't have to install them on your HD. You can run them from a USB stick and you'll get more or less the same functionality. If you're running an old PC like me (1.6 Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD), a lot of the top end Linux stuff won't be available but...
