Re: Symbols on Vic Schematics
I suspect 1.3 means something like "used on pages 1 and 3".. That seems to be how the person who created this schematic is using it, however I would have thought it would make more sense to show what page the signal comes from or goes to, so you can more easily trace the signals. BTW, som...

Re: WarGames by Darryl Reynolds?
Update: I know I have a copy of WarGames in my storage shed somewhere, so I purchased a DC2N4-LC from Luigi Di Fraia so I could start dumping all my VIC 20 (and C64) tapes. The first batch of tapes I dumped happened to include a copy of WarGames, which turns out to be a six part game for the unexpan...

Re: VIC-20 manual type in games - how many revisions/versions?
I have an earlier edition of Personal Computing on the VIC 20 with a copyright date of 1981. There is no mention of an edition number, so I am assuming this is the first edition/first printing of the book. The type-in listings in the back of the book appear identical the the fifth edition on archive...

Re: WarGames by Darryl Reynolds?
After a little more digging, it seems that the version of WarGames I had was an early copy and was supposed to have been a tie in with the movie, but the deal fell through, so the game got changed into Thermonuclear War Games. I found a thread on Lemon64 where the author made a brief appearance: htt...

Re: WarGames by Darryl Reynolds?
No, the WarGames I am looking for is a pure text adventure - it had a crappy verb/noun parser and was written in BASIC. From what I can determine they had to re-do the game (most likely rights-related) and it evolved into Thermo Nuclear War Games for C64 and other platforms, but I am only looking fo...

WarGames by Darryl Reynolds?
Back in the day I remember getting a text adventure called WarGames on cassette for my Vic 20. I have been looking for a *.tap (or other archive) but to no avail - I have searched Zimmer.net, TOSEC and everywhere else I can find that has Vic games, but the only mention of it that I can find is a pic...

Re: [ebay][not mine]Strange looking cartridge package
I just finished re-reading Brian Bagnall's book, Commodore: A Company on the Edge where he says: French laws at the time restricted American companies from opening divisions in France. It was up to Tramiel’s friend, Elie Kenan, to open the market for Commodore products. Kenan used his company Procep...

Re: Robotics and the Vic 20
Does anybody have any information that can help me use my Vic 20 user port for Robotics or radio controlled models and stuff like that? :D This is one of the things that has captured my imagination these days and I'd like to try it out if at all possible. The Vic is a fun little computer to use. II...

At least they're making an attempt, however poorly, to mimic the experience of a real Commodore 64 with the fast boot into an emualtor option. Rubbish! They aren't making any real attempt at anything except exploiting the Commodore name and the recent rise in the popularity of retrocomputing. I'm s...

So we have 9c80,9d00,9d80,and 9e00 in use on the megacart correct? And the FE3 only uses 9c02 and 9c03. So even if he is writing to Megacart registers, they should have no effect on the FE3 correct? later, dabone No, if he is writing to the Megacart registers for some specific reason, that bit of c...
