Re: Sprites in ML
Here's a copy of Sprite-Imation. This package includes a copy of the original article, the programs and demos, as well as my disassembly, as far as I got.

Re: Sprites in ML
BTW, has anyone got the DSK / PRG for the Sprite-Imation ... be interested to have a look at it (the links in this thread are no longer working). I haven’t dropped in here for quite a while, so I didn’t notice the activity in this thread again. I can probably dig up the original article and code fo...

Re: Load Charset Direct to Correct Memory Location
Thanks for the program Mike, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. From what I can see, this program would load to 0x1201. Is this correct? It functions like I would expect. Where would the charset reside in memory...and in the file? The file appears to have padding to get the charst to appear in th...

Load Charset Direct to Correct Memory Location
Hi All, I'm wondering whether it is possible to, when loading a program (from disk or tape) to load the character set data directly to a location that doesn't need moving, when the preogram is first loaded?...ie. when the screen location is set, the character set automatically changes to the remappe...
Re: Spikes
Just tried this and it's brutally difficult but it just looks great and plays so smoothly. Very responsive also. Neat little game.

Re: Ultimem or Final Expansion?
I'm sorry I've come on this thread a little late as I went to have a look at plbyrd's code and saw that he's taken it down. Did anyone happen to grab a copy before it was removed, as I'd like to see where the code was headed. I'm happy to say that I purchased an UltiMem and have loaded the default i...

Re: Re-Capping Hardware
Thanks guys. It sounds like the consensus is to buy quality parts and only buy the parts that you need rather than a bulk lot of parts that you won't need. Thanks for the links specific parts. That would save people time except that the only two prong Vic I own I have never turned on as I don't have...

Vic20 Case Hacks
Not a huge case hack like some I've seen. The case was originally painted before retrobrighting was discovered as it was badly yellowed. The keyboard swapped for a PET styled one and the power LED changed to green. The decoupage came latter and was based on the Australian Frew version of The Phantom...

Re-Capping Hardware
Just a quick question... Where do people source their electrolytic capacitors from when they re-cap a circuit board? Do you buy a bulk lot from a Chinese source on EBay? (Cheap) Do you buy individual capacitors from a know reputable brand, only buying the ones you need for the current task? (Time co...

Re: Software sprites?
This is great. Thanks. I'm looking forward to giving it a go. It might make it possible for me to continue a project a started ages ago but stalled on as I couldn't work out how to implement sprites that didn't tear and flicker.

Re: Help with CC65 Development
Thanks for the pointers, I think I worked out what the problem was...either way I got it working again. I think the problem was that I didn't leave a memory block in the CFG file for the relocated screen RAM, so when I wrote to the new screen I trashed the program. I found the problem by looking at ...
