Re: Looking for top part of case
I can probably part with the top half of my VIC20 parts machine. No keyboard. It is a short case from a cost reduced machine. It would need a good cleaning, but perfectly serviceable. Let me know if you're interested. I can send a picture.

Re: VIC20 Franken-machine?
Got this machine cleaned up and back together. When I received it, it was covered in paint splatters and had a busted keyboard plunger. I had to buy another VIC-20 with the Eurostile keyboard to act as a donor. Fortunately, the board works just fine and no troubleshooting was needed, just a good scr...

I have two C=64's waiting to be tested. I hope I don't need your services, but I'm happy to know you are there in case I do.

Re: VIC20 Franken-machine?
Thanks for the replies, everyone. Since I'm new to VIC-20 machines, I am trying to learn about the history of these. I've come to the conclusion that it is likely factory original. It's a piece of information that's nice to know. I would be cleaning it up and using it regardless of history or pedigr...

Re: VIC20 Franken-machine?
I found the VIC registry. Indeed, other VICs in this serial range came with the cost reduced board. In addition, there are much later serial numbers that indicate a Eurostyle keyboard. For now, I'm going to assume this is how it came from the factory. I love how commodore assembled things. It seems ...

Eurostyle Keyboard Plunger
I am looking for one plunger for a Eurostyle keyboard. My keyboard has one where the tab is broken off the top. I could repair it, but would prefer to use a factory part, if possible. These plungers are not compatible with the more common "helvetica" keyboards. Let me know if you have a pl...

VIC20 Franken-machine?
Hi everyone- I purchased a VIC20 from e-bay. I am just starting to learn about these machines. The serial number on the case is P1077304, made in USA. It has a cost reduced motherboard that appears to be in good condition, despite some corrosion on the RF shield. It has the gold VIC 20 and POWER bad...

Re: Introduce Yourself: What's your User Name based on?
Greetings I joined up because I've recently purchased 2 VIC20 computers. The first one is a cost reduced version with a Eurostyle keyboard. One of the keyboard plungers is broken and I'm hoping to track down a new one. The case was splattered with paint that I was able to clean up. The case is a cre...
