Re: Boulder Dash Preview
I think the cartridge should have a label, being it a licensed product and not a homebrew one, in the style of other commercial cartridges.

Re: Some basic questions
Color RAM starts at $9400. Maybe you can find examples on how to use the video registers in the books hosted here:

Re: Live Wire VIC-20 BBS
This association of the VIC with 22 columns makes me recall a few months ago I read someone had published here a patch for the kernal to work with an arbitrary number of columns (up to 25-26, as usual for PAL/NTSC). I can't find the thread now. (OK I found it, it's here https://sleepingelephant.com/...

Re: Bi-Directional User Port Code
I remember there was activity in another thread on this topic here in Denial a few months ago, somebody else was working on this topic, he had a blog

Re: FE3 respin - SD or micro SD card?
For storage I prefer USB pendrives like in the 1541Ultimate2. I don't know if this brings technical issues.

Re: Manuals in other languages
The user manual I think it was a good translation. I think the BASIC course was a good translation too. I didn't keep it, I recall it was photocopies bounded without a proper cover.

I keep mine. I just checked a couple of sites which may have had pdfs, but they haven't. I don't own a scanner anymore.

Re: Subforum for graphics/demos/music?
I like party discussion and releases in the general section or in the announcements. But there are lots of nice drawings, such as those with the grayscale dithering experiments of a guy that almost lost them, I think you did some rescue work there. Those old BASIC listings with interesting graphics,...

Subforum for graphics/demos/music?
I was doing some search on the web for samples of nice VIC20 PETSCII art, and shortly after returning to Denial. Then I realized always I've seen some nice graphics here, it was in the programming subforum, secondary to what was being discussed in its thread. As the name of the thread doesn't hint a...

Re: FREAX (and some other new bits)
Good idea have the alternate rows of aliens moving in opposite directions.
But I don't know what you mean about the VIC1001, apparently it's 3583 bytes free too.
(TBH I had never tried VIC1001 settings on VICE until today)

Re: "Ultimate Expansion" - new firmware for FE3
i have the FE3 as an .prg file from the BADAPPLE demo with rev020. to play on VICE emulator, first add fe3badas7.5.prg as a Final Expansion cartridge. Then attach badrom7.5.d64 as a 1541 disk image. If the Bad Apple demo indeed also worked with the original Rev. 020, then just by pure luck (most pr...

Re: VIC listing program
There seems to be more functionalities in the repository tools other than just list programs to pdf. For the record VICE can print listings to bmp if you configure the printer, and can copy and paste text to and from the editor (as long as there are no control characters). But your approach looks mo...
