Re: Embracing Tapes?
Back in the day, I only could afford a datasette for my Vic-20 and later, my C64.
I only managed to get a 1541 many years later (1998?) when I started collected old computers.

Re: My dog hates VIC music.
Would someone be able to post some of these to YouTube, as I don't have a Vic (or VICE) set up at the moment to try them out...
Looks interesting...

Looking good - I particularly appreciate the SD (rather than micro-SD) card slot!

Re: slASHer - new Vic-20 game
Quite nice, the character-movement is nice and fluid.
The colour-handling does look a little "Spectrum-like", but if this is only a beta-release, that's forgivable
Will the final-release of the dev-enviroment allow for 'custom' Vic-20 specific screen-modes?

Re: Archiving TAP for Ultima Escape From Mt Drash
I don't think anyone would think a 'reissue' of this, on tape with appropriately packaging, as attempting to scam or mislead. It's pretty obvious if something is an original copy. As I said; I'd love to have many of the old games on nice new tapes, to relive the past. if someone is going to go to th...

Re: Archiving TAP for Ultima Escape From Mt Drash
I think it's rather silly to 'gatekeep' (is that the term?) old software such as this... No-one is going to suffer any financial hardship and more people will get to relive the joys (?) of loading it from tape. And if someone wants to make & sell a physical cassette version, complete with nicely...

It would be nice to have one of the ports as a DB-25 to make it a bit simpler to connect stuff without the need for an adaptor?

Glad to see you finally plucked-up the courage! Sounds like you spend more time with computers that you realise!
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Monster Muncher?
As I recently did the same for Blue Meanies, I'm picking away at the basic code of this game to see how it works. I've removed all the integer types except for on the arrays where they do save space, and changed so you can press any key to start a game. I'll see if I can fix some of the bugs once I...

Re: Final Expansion 3 NG
Oh please, no! I can (sort of) see the need for smaller-format cards for mobile phone, but for the FE3 a 'full-sized' SD card-slot is better. It will also offer the option to use SD and micro SD cards. MicroSD are just too fiddly... Interesting you feel strongly about this. I'll have a check about ...

Re: Is this a VIC-20 with PET style keys?
The middle photos is actually the Vic-20 "Euro" style keyboard.
I'm not sure of the exact reason they brought out this 'PET-like" font, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can explain.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Small-C running on the VIC – here's how
Whatever. End of thread. I'll continue writing in the repo as I'm getting a strong sense of wasting everybody's time here. Not at all... I'm sure I'm not the only one here who thinks it's very interesting to read this kind of thread. Just because we don't' always post responses, doesn't mean we're ...
