Re: Embracing Tapes?

I also love tapes. Something warping one back a couple of years has a rejuvenating effect on mind and body – more and more studies confirm it. Meanwhile the VIC became the first of the Commodores to play audio like a MC: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=66244 – and at least one game (PULSE) does...

Above the textarea when editing posts there is a button with some kind of chain symbolized on it. That's the trick how to make usable links.

Re: 🍓 Pi 5

I gave Recallbox a try. Nice animations. I would have preferred working pads though. Tried three models and it's a disappointment. That was rather unexpected.
However, I could work on that Pi5 should the regular machine get nuked – am very happy with it.

Nice. Someone should fix the build and submit a usable PRG.

I just happened to remember that I fixed the issue where balls zip out through open obstacle gates some time ago… I've taken out the round intro of this 10 level demo for now as it'd only spark bug reports that aren't vital to the game's full release. There's still some freak bug where blocks just d...

Re: TUNIX Lisp (continued)

Road map for the next five minutes: revive bytecode backend in tré to bootstrap the TUNIX Lisp compiler on the bytecode VM and throw away that massive evaluator which is a bitch with a 4kt butt, because of lexical scope. Compiler roadmap: https://github.com/SvenMichaelKlose/tunix/blob/main/src/bin/l...

Re: Introducing VFLI for VIC-20: 208x256 pixels in 16 colours!

As in all those years there had been no significant response by people to that project here, I once decided to devote my time to other projects. That's the entire reason I did not mention that idea here until now. It's lonely at the top, isn't it? :p I've spent up to an hour on some replies just to...

Re: Let's bring ELITE to the VIC-20

Yeah. The tiny amount of screen memory is quite a game changer compared to the later models. Some speed code in expanded memory would be a cool option, too.

Re: Line drawing algorithm

Sorry for the missing references. Not going for an academic degree. ;) In the end: it's a working line routine and I probably cannot imagine how good that's kicking the first time any more, plus a couple of priceless lessons for free. No time wasted.

Quick scan doesn't reveal nothing to me to optimise. An achievement for its size. But I cannot place the loss of zero page in any bigger picture comfortably.

TUNIX Lisp (continued)

I didn't post recent releases as it's working on POSIX-compatibles and the C64 only. https://github.com/SvenMichaelKlose/tunix/blob/main/Changelog.md TUNIX Lisp https://github.com/SvenMichaelKlose/tunix/blob/main/src/bin/lisp/doc/manual.md is an interpreter designed to run on systems with next to no...
