Re: Missing in Action titles recovered for VIC-20 + ZX Spectrum

That is fantastic! Thank you so much for checking through and making fixes where you could. I'll add a quick update to the page with credit to yourself! I think some of the tapes had just sadly decayed too much, but I have all the multiple DMP files that I made if they would be of interest/use (the ...

Re: Missing in Action titles recovered for VIC-20 + ZX Spectrum

No problem, and thank you for taking a look! A few of the tapes had issues, even after multiple attempts and using different tape decks - so I just included the best versions I could for now. I think a few of the tapes had just degraded too much.

Missing in Action titles recovered for VIC-20 + ZX Spectrum

Taking a break from unreleased games, i've instead preserve a series of titles that were 'Missing In Action'. Includes a long lost #ZXSpectrum utility and a few #VIC20 games not yet archived (including some that are). Enjoy! https://www.gamesthatwerent.com/2024/12/vic-20-and-zx-spectrum-preservation...

Re: Monster Muncher?

Resurrecting 10 years later, but hopefully for a good reason :) Matthew Smith's long lost Monster Muncher has finally been saved! (missing 41 years). After losing out on a recent auction, it was miraculously spotted in the Retro Computer Museum and has now been preserved by Games That Weren't. https...

Re: A tribute to Micro-Antics and preserving all their titles

Hi Huffelduff, many thanks and glad you enjoyed it!

By the sounds of it, Paul had just moved onto other projects and away from computers. I'm not sure what he did next, but I will check with Toby.

A tribute to Micro-Antics and preserving all their titles

I've been working recently on a huge tribute piece on Micro-Antics, the company that produced the amazing Chariot Race for the Commodore VIC-20. We have finally preserved all their titles and these are now all available to download (including an unreleased game), along with a gallery of dev material...

Re: Problem with Chicken Challenge game

Tested on real hardware with a 1541-II connected and switched on. Confirmed that it disables the joystick and keyboard controls when the drive is switched on. Switch it off, and suddenly it works fine. Might be a side effect of the Stop Tape routine perhaps? Anyway, cool to know what it is - and not...

Re: Problem with Chicken Challenge game

Cheers Groepaz - Makes for a logical explanation to why it was working suddenly for me - I likely disabled it whilst button mashing to try and get a response from the game ;-)

I'll test tomorrow evening on the real thing with a 1541-II attached (test on and off) and see how it behaves.
