I just purchased this device to help archive a tape. It can also record back to tape but I have not tried this yet.

I thought it may be of interest to other users wishing to archive tapes quickly and cheaply. It worked on the second attempt for me.
The instructions had a few steps to setup the sound device on the pc but after that it was fairly straightforward.
Tips
1. When setting the level in Audacity don't max out the record volume, just turn it up to about 0.65 until the level is just hitting the top and bottom rails.
2. When converting the wav to tape remember to use the inverted waveform
