I'm not sure that the tapes have been archived closely enough to tell which are more common than others. The production costs to sell tape software also was much lower than producing cartridges, so you have much more sources to choose from.

Mayhem said he's trying to take the relay baton (?) from where Ward left it, but I don't know how much time it takes to get a grip on what titles were available and how common it is for people to own those.

If you want, all of us here etc could put down a list of the original VIC tapes we have, although probably most are common ones. From my heart, I think I only own four:

Bewitched (Imagine Software)
Duck Shoot (Mastertronic)
Jigsaw (Commodore)
Trap (Commodore)

I have about 100 Vic20 tapes.. My old picture has maybe 80 tapes. I havent made list.. I can upload pic if there would be place to do it.

Anyway it would be cool if Denial had file/pics are where we could upload small pics.

I have a VIC-20 tape version of Cave Fighter. I don't know if it is rare but I haven't seen a mention of it anywhere on the internet. I did make a TAP rip of it a few years back but the B side of the tape seems damaged (I don't think it ever worked). Ingame screenshot follows:

Seems like I had multiple TAP files on the directory on my HD, but I can't recall what the difference is so here's the whole directory zipped (861 KB):

EDIT: I also have Alien Blitz and Tom Thumb as tapes somewhere but I don't know if either of them is very rare at all.

Pretty much all the Sierra's Vic-20 cassette games
are rare (and cartridges of course too).

Ultima (as mentioned), SierraVision-games etc...

Not that it contributes much, but here are Vic-20 tapes I have (that are for trade):
- Block Buster (Mastertronic) (complete)
- Bullet (Mastertronic) (complete)
- Neutron Zapper (Mastertronic) (complete)
- Sub Hunt (Mastertronic) (complete)

(These are also for possible trade: *Vic=20 User Manual *Vic Programmes Volume 1 (Nick Hampshire) )

PS. I collect Sierra so if someone has f.ex. those SierraVenture / SierraVision etc. games for sale/trade, please contact me at psychic@mbnet.fi
I can come up with lots of trade games/stuff for Vic.

The rarest tape game I know of is Denial Collection (featured on this website). Only 10 were made (signed and numbered) and they were sold on ebay about a year ago.

Are the games still available? Are these the same as the ones you posted here?

Anyway, another rare one might be the Canadian Tire collection. The VIC-20 was sold at this store (car parts and home improvement tools) in the 1980's, this is where I got mine. It came with a tape of about 10 games on it as a bonus. I know vic user has one, anyone else?

I had one years ago, don't remember what happened to it.

I also have the canadian tire tape... It is actually quite fun.

Two games from the ten game tape are available here in the basic section. It was just a compilation of my recent work. No big deal.

I have the cassette. I bought it after
we had the vic for a while. They didn't
know they had it until I told them.

I've been looking all over for a copy of Cascade ACE flight simulator. The VIC version is listed in advertising but no cigar on finding a download. Anybody?
