Re: WIP: Manic Miner port
Now the long winter nights are starting to draw in, I thought I would check in to the Denial forum to see the latest VIC20 news. OMG I can't believe this! This is THE game I always wanted for the VIC. I never thought I would see it, Manic Miner on the VIC but BAM there it is, and it looks, sounds, and plays so well! You sir, are an absolute VIC20 legend!

Popping in to mention that Matthew Smith commented on the video. No big deal...

Hi there,
just wanted to tell you how awesome the VIC-port Manic Miner is.
I made a trainer for starting level and infinite lives. I reduced the volume a little bit for a better sound on my TV. Enjoy!

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port
Been having a play on this managed to get past Eugenes Lair.
Noticed that the conveyors behave a bit different, if you land facing the opposite way you should be able to hold position and jump on the spot till you release the opposite direction button.
Certainly a good port for saying the system it is on.
Edit: Just a couple of notes for Spectrum version accuracy if you tweak this again.
Conveyors, if you fall straight down on a conveyor facing the opposite direction you stay in that spot till you release that direction. If you Jump forwards onto a conveyor you can walk on it opposite the flow of the conveyor till you release the direction.
Level 1
The Wall next to the conveyor should be one block to the right, so you always hit your head if jumping on the wall below.
Level 2
The conveyor should be rolling to the right not the left.
Level 3
The timing of the top right hand bird is off making it more challenging to get over than the original.

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port
Hi there.
The first game was in 1983 when I met on the Sinclair spectrum and saw the first computer and sat down to play with it. My favorite. In 1985, my uncle brought 20 VIC machines.
My dream of more than 30 years came true as I made this machine.
I've been happy ever since and thank the programmers.
I think the conversion went really well.
I missed the SPECTRUM loader.
I apologize, but I wrote one, of course, also a trainer.
