Midi plug for A/V cable?

I will soon be making an A/V cable for my Vic. It looks like a 5 pin midi plug should work with it. Is there any reason why it wouldn't?

Yes it will. I bought a MIDI cable off eBay to use with my Maplin Talkback speech synthesizer.
