W W!
Very impressive. I think that score will discourage any more contenders!

If anyone here subscribes to "RetroGamer" magazine and notices that this gets a review, could you let me know so that I can order the issue. I sent if for review there, but I stopped my subscription recently (wasn't actually reading it).
Re: New Release: Tank Battalion

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
It's the latest issue, #138?
Lie with passion and be forever damned...
Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
Thanks, for the heads-up.
I'll pop by the NewsAgent and pick a copy up.

Yes, it's issue 138. Great issue this month (point and click adventures, Star Wars Dark Forces and top25 ZX81 games). And Tank Battalion of course.
Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
I finally played this on my real VIC 20, it's brilliant, even better than the NES original.
Well done, and thank you.

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
Thanks! I was unaware of a NES version, will have to check it out.
Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
No problem. I'm guessing the famicom and NES versions are the same. I have a NES Clone, which is a 76 Games in 1 type of device, so NES on a chip. It has a cartridge slot on the bottom, which apparently is for Famicom Carts, never tried it though. Of the 76 games, at least 6 of them are Abrams Tank, or something like that, which is basically this game. There is even one which lets you design the layout.

Is it this one...?

If so, I see they have smooth tank movement unlike the original arcade game. I wanted to retain the feel of the original with the stepped movement of tanks [not to mention it made it easier to program ]

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion
That looks like it and sounds like it, yes.
Like I said before lots of slightly different variants of the same game on the device I have. They all look the same and sound the same, I think it's the layout and difficulty that changes, apart form the editor one. Originally they were probably all one game, but I bet different levels and a layout editor, but for the console they have split it up into different games.
Are you also a Dragon 32 owner by any chance?
