I got this game cart about a year ago and never made everybody aware of my find. I got it off Ebay for a decent price...best Vic purchase I have ever made. According to the Digitpress website, it's a pretty damn rare game. I personally have never seen one bofore or after I bought mine.

This is a VIC-20 game cartridge?

Can you post pictures? Have we ever seen this before? If not then WOW! Dump a ROM image of it please!

I don't know whether anybody here has actually seen the actual cartridge but the game is on the "Mega-Cart", so people are aware of its existence. It is a very rare cartridge from what I read on "Digitpress". It was thought to be "rumormill" until one turned up in Sweeden back in 2007.

Oh okay. Well good thing it has been dumped, anyway. Did you get the box? A scan of the artwork might me nice to see and archive for historical reasons.

No, I didn' get the box or instruction manual. I just received the cartridge. It's manufactured by OEM. It is the same farmiliar cartridge color as the well known "Dot Gobbler" except that it is rarity level 10 at digitpress, valued at $100.

I believe it was my cartridge that was dumped for Megacart. I have the C64 version CIB but I can't recall if my Vic20 version is loose or boxed. OEM used the same boxes for its games with just a sticker on the front to denote version, so they are fairly interchangeable. Pretty sure some version of the cover art is in GB20.

How accurate is the Digital Press cartridge rarity guide? If it's the old one made by Ward Shrake, then it's waaay off by now - it wasn't accurate even five years ago.

Not to say that your cartridge isn't rare - most of these OEM ones are, but I'm not sure I trust that cartridge rarity guide.

If the list is the one that Mayhem is maintaining (is he still doing that?) then it might be more accurate.

Here is where I found it on the "Digitpress" website. click the link "online rarity guide", select "vic-20" in the window, then click "find it". That is where I found the info.

I took over from Ward way back in 2004 in regards to the Digital Press list for Vic20 and C64, so don't worry, it's in good hands ;)

Hi Mayhem,

The only thing I noticed about the list on Digital Press is that it doesn't mention that VIC-1001 can also be the (relatively) newly found "Waterloo Structured Basic" cartridge (yes, the cartridge number conflicts with the Japanese VIC).

This might have been a Canada only release, but it had a full box and everything.

There's a problem between the interface I use to add new entries and what's currently displayed. That cart has been entered, just it isn't showing for the public. No idea when it will be sorted out :?

Here is the picture. Better late than never.

Here is the pic of the cart. I don't have the box or instruction manual.

Yeah those paper labels weren't particularly sturdy. Thankfully most of mine are in decent shape, and OEM later swapped to using rubber based or metallic labels instead for a few of their popular titles. If I remember, I'll grab all my OEM carts (boxed and loose) and photo them up.

Just to note, no game has a "manual", the instructions are all on the back of the boxes.

That is phenomenal you have all those carts. I've never seen any of them in real life except Dot Gobbler. The company that made those carts, OEM, I believe is in Fort Pierce, Florida. Same state as me 🙂.
