The first thing we typed in was:

We then sat through the Searching, Found RACE, FOUND Hoppit, Found Tuneful etc.

I remember the little animated man made with sticks and a circle. I myself tried and program a game in which the main character was a little penguin with a hat (or a hobbit? a dwarf? something else?). I can't recall it exactly, but it was intended to be the hero in a series of games - none of which was ever realized, of course :P .

My Mum and Dad spent several hours with the manual setting it up fro when i got home from school

10 PRINT Happy Birthday Ian

It didn't work so I fixed it and added the obligatory ; and 20 GOTO 10

At which point they realised I knew a lot more than them and they quietly backed away.....

That is the reset sys. But why anyone would like to reset a just started computer is a different question. :)
