I've not been here much in recent years, so I thought I'd say hello again.

In reference to Jeff's second question, What is your user name based on? Well in my case it's obviously based on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Hi,

well, mine is easy. Monkey Island was one of my favourite games from the 8-bit era (too bad nobody ported it to the VIC-20 :) ). So, I chose one of the characters from that game as my Nickname.

Cheers

Well, uh, so yeah. I've actually been a member here for about five years now, but it's been a while since I last was active so I wanted to introduce myself again.

My name is Gorf (but I go my Europa most other places), I'm 18, and I love the VIC-20. It's what really got me into collecting computers about six or seven years ago when a family friend gave me one as a birthday gift. In addition to doing stuff with computers, I also make music and YouTube videos (largely about computers in my collection). I sadly don't have my VIC set up right now, but I want to get some form of permanent setup eventually.

My username here is based on the game Gorf, and my handle most other places is taken from the Thomas Dolby song "Europa and the Pirate Twins".

It'll probably take me a bit to get caught up on advancements in the community, but just because I've been rather inactive here doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about the VIC! I have a few ideas that I'd love to see come to fruition and I still need to learn 6502 assembly. Thanks all for continuing to make this community an amazing place!

Very good! I don't know if Im allowed to do that, but ... welcome to this huge community! Apparently, age doesn't matter when it comes to liking the vic20
Valid rule today as earlier: 1 Byte = 8 Bits
-._/classes instead of masses\_.-

Thank you! Yeah, the VIC was one of my first real-world experiences with a computer that let me get deeper into the theory behind computer systems and such, so I credit it with helping me learn a lot of the stuff I know today.

My name roughly means "dragon person" and is from a series of books by Robin Hobb.

The first computer that was ever mine was a VIC-20.

I'm presently very interested in programming the VIC-20 in C using cc65.
