Encounter by Pixel - is this actually a game?

Post by Trypticon »

I took a look at some games of Pixel recently, they have an interesting presentation, but rather shallow gameplay imho.

Encounter was sold with Starquest, but I'm puzzled what it actually is supposed to be - after entering the UFO and getting to the point where the "B" key can be pressed the screen just stays blank. Is that all there's to it, or is there something I'm missing here, like an emulator issue?

Just having fired it up myself to figure things out... the first puzzle you must press B four times to finish the sequence. The rest of them are similar, you must press B either at the right time, or the correct amount of times for a sequence. The next puzzle sees a red dot flash on the screen a certain number of times, you must press B to match that number. And onwards...

Ah, now I see. After that intro I was just expecting something vastly different

Yeah heh... I can understand that. I just played it for ten minutes to see what exactly you needed to do and got through about four or five puzzles in the process.
