Awesome game, Jeff!
I never thought you'd crack and use some machine code!
It's a bit tricky to get past the second wave of squid. I had to list the basic program to see that there's a hidden "trick roll" which allows you to evade them.

Thanks for all the kind words! saehn's graphic upgrade would be awesome! I need to work on my graphic skills.
Music does not come very naturally to me, so it took some time to get the music right. I still think I have a few extra notes in there I should take out. Anyway, you're right, learning how to properly roll your ship in evasive moments is the trick. The game is much easier if you remember to use your Auto Fire.

I thought it odd when the first page of text came up but I know that your games often have a back story so I figured that's what was going on. I didn't recognize the music yet and the text had me perplexed and I distinctly remember thinking, 'start the game already'. A moment later the chorus came up and I recognized the theme and I realized that I'd been had.
I honestly can't remember the last time I got snookered like that. Congratulations.
