I think the bad reputation of tape as a storage media for c64/vic20 is greatly exaggerated. The only time I had trouble loading from tape was with games copied with bad quality double deck cassette players.
I had lots of games saved to tape with Turbo Tape or GRL loader and those used very short pulses indeed.
I agree. I always found tape to be a reliable storage format. The data is stored at fairly low density compared to a floppy drive, so less to go wrong.

I agree too! In fact, I've only ever had one Datasette die on me through all my years of use and abuse. It's a bit of a shame that tapes now have such a bad rep, what with reliability and load times. Folk should go back and compare the datasette with the 1541 with real world usage - I think they'd reappraise their biases!

Do you mean my TurboTape 2.0 btw once you turbo-save a program/game for any Vic-20 memory configuration (unexpanded/3K/8k/16k/24k) you don't need to use this utility to load turbo-saved program, you may turbo-save cart images too
TurboTape 2.0 is present from the Utilities of Mega-Cart too.

using bigger c-60-c-90 tapes would stretch the belt in the " c2n Datassette "
Was this complete rubbish or true?
I am Just about to record hundreds of VIC-20 games onto Tape
and was thinking maybe buy c-60 tapes...But not sure what to do..
Maybe just stick with the c-20 or c-30 's?

I heard the same. Moreover, someone told me that C90/120 were too long, and the tape speed tended to vary, slowing down towards the end.
