" Ghostbusters " +24K

Post by AndyH »

" Ghostbusters " requires a Commodore Vic 20 with a 24k expansion.

Ghostbusters, the game, was originally released on a number of computers in 1984. In it you take on a ghost busting franchise in the city.

Ghostbusters is divided into three sections.

First chose your car and equipment with what you can afford from your bank loan. If you've played before you can use your bank account number and use the money you previously earnt. More money, more equipment.

Next is the main game where you respond to ghost incidents across the city, shown as a map, drive there and then capture the ghost.

Finally, as PK energy increases and the Key master and Gate keeper get together, you must get past the Marshmallow man and stop Gozer.

" 'bustin makes me feel good! "

Available soon on tape from The Future Was 8 Bit!

I added a splash screen in the same way I once added Echo the Mouse to Cheesy Trials:

Awesome!

I have to come clean now (obviously): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfIMARmBdJw

I'll likely make amends and work on a Ghostbusters game for real.

Incidentally, the last file on the disk is Pink Windmill Blitz, from 2023 and previously only released on the PU+2 and 3.

Have previously not tried that, looks like a really nice blitz game. When starting to google I found out all about Rod Hull and Emu's Pink Windmill Show, not knowing about the show your "world building" around that flew me by! :D

haha yes, it's mostly us being silly and much of it derives from a TV comedy series in the 90's called fist of fun. Here's the last episode for context ;)

I hope you do. I'm a big fan of all things Ghostbusters and I've been hoping for a VIC-20 port for years. I was even planning to buy a physical copy on tape even though I don't use physical media for VIC-20 games any more. My heart sank when I saw the Rick-Roll!

Very good rendition of Never Gonna Give You Up, though.

I loved it - felt like a teenager again watching the old Rick Astley video. Love the bouncing ball animation - was perfect!
