Jelly-load: load Vic20 programs from YouTube

Post by AndyH »

This is a bit of nonsense and yet strangely fun activity. Loading Vic 20 programs from a youtube video using a relatively easy to build hardware device that plugs into the user port.

Here's a couple of videos of it in action:

Rod started on this some months back and has been working with Dave to get the software written.

OK it's many times slower than loading from tape and it's an experiment only a few people will ever try, but that's not the point. The point is it exists and it can be done.

Very good. I laughed at the endless Crossroads loop.

This was tried years ago and was very broken.

Good invesitgation about it from RetroRecipes.

Having a crack at this, see if I can get it to work any sense.
Feel free to adopt / adapt / improve.

Couple of weeks time I should have complete hardware and a few spares cos of MOQs.
Drop me a line if you'd like a set to play with.

Cheers.
