Hi, Miklós,

I moved your recent postings in the thread "Welcome! Please add your programs." to an own thread.

What set of tools do you use to build these pictures? Is this a manual or at least somewhat automated process? Is there a way to use them in own programs? It would be nice for example, if one could instruct the own program to show such a picture on screen, wait for a key press, restore text mode and then continue with the own program.

I am mostly asking because these were some of the reasons that once motivated me to write MINIGRAFIK and its assorted set of tools. On the disk, if you take a look at the included slide shows, you might recognize one of the pictures you took as example. ;)

Greetings,

Michael

Good day.
Thu VS Thu
Comparison of two images.
-I took the frame off my conversion.
-8x16 char ---> c64bitmap
-remake on artstudio and convert -> 8x16pixel / 22 char / row
The music is also a demo version, I did it with my editing program. And the player is its own.
- I didn't take it seriously, I laugh at it too.

Live bitmap 1.1
-I had a good time and I'm looking for opportunities.
-Frame eliminated, another bitmap conversion.
8x16 -> 8x8 Charset

Lake 1.1
-It drew this picture.
--C64 Art studio 1.2b
23/18 character 8x8 pixels / char

Good day.
Jetpac pic (p)
Sorry this is running on a PAL machine due to 32 char / line.
- This is the original aspect ratio.
-Vice 3.2 emulator: Settings / VIC settings / Debug border
setting is the most beautiful.

Jetpac picture NTSC / PAL

It has long been concerned with how to do it on an NTSC machine as well
this oversized image.
By setting the VICE emulator 3.2, I really like the PAL image.
PAL 32 characters wide.
Thus, the NTSC image is 31 characters wide.
(a little game: where's the difference?)
22.sept. V3 8k
Re-coded image. Aspect ratio retained.
I designed it for real hardware and a tv or monitor.

Hi, Miklós,

this is nice application for flipping multiple bitmaps. Two points to note though:
  • Most of the time, the 'spheres' don't keep their rotation sense and merely seem to wiggle left/right, which is somewhat irritating. Sometimes, after a colour change, it works.
  • Speaking of 'spheres': you did a 1:1 pixel translation from C64 multi-colour bitmap to VIC-20. That inevitably changed the round spheres to flat ellipoids. It would be a big improvement, if you'd take the different pixel aspect ratios into account. An even better option would be recalculating the raytracing scene and its animation phases with the correct pixel size and screen dimensions to suit the VIC-20.
Greetings,

Michael

Very Nice. Well done Miklos.

Column one is the difference ;-)
