Re: Behr-Bonz 2015
One very last Behr-Bonz !
I forgot I had one left in stock. It's one I used for testing different EPROM software configurations. It is perfectly functional and identical to all the other ones except for ONE thing, the EPROM is on a socket.
Who's going to be the lucky person to get the very last Behr-Bonz ?

In 50 years I will sell it as a "prototype" on Ebay, and become a millionaire

Kind regards, Peter.

You know... I still have the handmade version of the Behr-Bonz which was presented to the public in december 2007...joshuadenmark wrote:In 50 years I will sell it as a "prototype" on Ebay, and become a millionaire

That's the very first working Behr-Bonz multicart. Only a few small mods were needed for all games to work properly.
It still works perfectly well... how's that for a rarity ?

Re: Behr-Bonz 2015
I recommended Behr-Bonz to a few people, of course they are now sold out. @eslapion might be considering a new run. What would we like to see here for a new version?
Some ideas:
Some ideas:
- Improved menu. Instead of pressing 1-8 to jump to page and then A-Q, press the starting letter of a game and then 1 through pound and F1-F7 to represent the start game
more ROMs (diagnosis carts)
PAL/NTSC switch
Reset switch
Jump straight to basic
37kb expansion
Start CBM file browser or Boray's browser with SJLOAD installed
SD card reader for adding new games (or USB or flash memory)

Instead of pressing 1-8 to jump to page and then A-Q, press the starting letter of a game and then 1 through pound and F1-F7 to represent the start game - That's a request for e5frog as I didn't make the menu but jumping directly to any of 127 games with 2 keypresses is neat; there are only 26 letters in the alphabet.
more ROMs (diagnosis carts) - The EPROM is full already! I can change ROMs to your liking but I can't add more
PAL/NTSC switch - Possible but I would have to piggyback a pair of 27C160 on top of one another. The larger EPROM in this family (27C322) doesn't support 8 bit mode
Reset switch - already included!!
Jump straight to basic - already included!! Just choose a Scott Adams game
37kb expansion - Not possible, bus conflict! The Behr-Bonz occupies BLK1,2,3 and 5
Start CBM file browser or Boray's browser with SJLOAD installed - If this is available as autostart in BLK5 then it's easy to replace a game you don't like with this
SD card reader for adding new games (or USB or flash memory) - Whoa!! This cart is called Behr-Bonz (bare bones) for a reason!! Even the Ultimem doesn't offer that!
Be normal.

Re: Behr-Bonz 2015
After a bit of investigation, it may be possible to double the capacity of the Behr-Bonz using a 29F032 flash memory chip.
This would make it a 254 games/utilities cart.

Any ideas what titles you would fill the extra slots with?
