Sid Vicious - VIC 20 SID emulation
Moderator: Moderators
Thanks Kweepa. Mike had PM'd me something similar.. so the channel frequencies aren't touched whatsoever - just the volume register?Kweepa wrote:The emulation generates the SID waveforms (square, sawtooth etc) and then mixes them together and applies them to the volume. There's no trick, it's just done really fast.
I'm going to have to ask (beg! ) TLR nicely about his Datapop pulse width mod.. It just dawned on me that although you can generate practically any sample and play back SIDViciously.. you're restricted to the volume mix.. ie. one channel, all mixed - no way of combining the actualy Vic voices with the mix as well.
Say for example I was to create a tracker style program (similar to VicTracker).. I'd want to use the 3 Vic voices and generate pulse width modulation on one of the voices.. This is really something that I should be posting in another thread now isn't it.. its not really SIDVicious. (Sorry Everyone )

Many thanks Checked that out yesterday and made a quick vid. Was surprised all the Plus/4 SIDplay hits are for a hardware SID cartridge player so this is damned impressive.aeb wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2017 1:11 amOriginal files here (+ I also mirrored Kananga's VicSidConv):Kananga wrote:See this thread.MadCommodore wrote:Anyone have the files still?
