Any chance of some different keys?
QAGH doesn't seem to work.
I'm using a Microsoft natural keyboard which is split like so between the two hands, so YGHB is impossible to use!
RT YU
FG HJ
VB NM
For Blue Star, and this is copied from Imagine's Arcadia, I use:
the entire bottom letters row for left right, alternating left and right
the entire middle letters row A-L for down
the entire top letters row Q-P for up
Looking good!

Well, I didn't think about "azerty" vs "qwerty". What about "ED" for up-down and "GH" for left-right, as well as my favorite "YGHB"?

It should be possible to make a joystick routine that just copies the key codes into the keyboard buffer.PhilRanger wrote:Sorry, this was really designed for the keyboard: at faster speeds, you need to be able to queue your commands through the keyboard buffer to allow you to change by just one row or column. It wouldn't be very playable with the joystick. I tried first with the actual key but quickly reversed to using the keyboard buffer.Boray wrote:Nice! It would be even nicer if you could use a joystick though.
You can use "QAGH" instead of "YBGH" if you prefer 2 hands style.

qwerty vs qzerty makes anything with QA or WS not great. I like to overlay my hands, left on YG and right on HB, but I can shiftleft or right to void the split personalityproblem of some people here
So left hand could be ED for up-down, and right hand could be HJ for horizontal control, on which I'd add YB for the centralisators like me OR
TFGV with added OP for horizontal
Or make it completely anti MAC/PC with F5-F7 for up-down and arrow-up and 1 for left-right.
Or I dive in and let the user assigh his keys? I still have a few byutes left...

I think I'll shift this "keyboard preference" stuff to a new thread!
