Isn't the idea with a such meet-up to get so involved in gaming that you barely would notice if a half-naked woman sits next to you?

The true measurement of a good retro party

Wouldn't that deflate their womanly powers just a bit

I honestly wonder what a bunch of "good time" girls (I don't know exactly what to call them) are really thinking about when they are invited to do their thing at a party of guys playing with old 80s videogames - and what they have to say in the car ride home afterward!

I think they're going to think, "I hope those guys are great tippers."

On the way home, they're either going to say:

a) "Wow, those guys were great tippers!"

or

b) "Wow, those guys were lousy tippers!"

I would hope they would think geeks are hot and have to go home together to "relieve" each other of the built up "tensions" moaning "C...c...c....oh...oh...ohh..mmmm...mmmm....oh...ooh..ohh....dddd...oohhh...ooohhh...rrrrreee"

In particular if the geeky guys are downloading and watching 8-bit pr0n, but don't bother too much about the live women in the room, it would say something. I just don't know exactly what it would say...

Well the night has come and gone...met a few new people....chatted and played games with a few familiar faces...all in all it was great and I appreciate the gestures people made with:

Golan- springing for the pizzas-very thoughtful and generous :D and for the PET games that will balloon my collection nicely and mostly for keeping me in "mind" for the "1 in 5" deal we got brewing

Schema- for bringing his guest who really seems to have enjoyed himself playing pinball and mame

DPCAL-for bringing some freebies (commodore books, disks, carts for attendees) and for bringing 2 guests also (starsoldier sold a whack of commodore carts (vic-20 and c64) to 6502dude/Golan for projects (including a double ender for the vic-20 and an Odyssesy 2 cart) all for $15

6502dude-for bringing the MEGACART and showing me my easter egg  (I think I recognized the chick from the position she was in  ) An amazing piece of work guys that you should be proud of the accomplishment 8)

Sparky- for bringing his Vectrex set-up, handhelds, prize for schema and the gesture of 4 bags of munchies  A coming to the plate for the Iron Maiden ticket so now we got all 4 spoken for and will have a blast with Ian and friend come March 8)

2 little carpet-cleaners that couldn't make it- we'll find an occasion to call you over (I have wallet sized pictures of them if anyone wants one)

I'm putting an open invitation to the group if anyone anytime wants to come over some weekend and play with my Commodore set-up with me, just pm and suggest that you'd be interested and if the schedule is clear (which it mostly is) then we can have a blast together 8)

Here are a few pics....

Do you like my personal easter egg for you ?

Brian said me that was a really good evening, i'm happy for this.

Hey Schema, which game are you playing on the Mame Cabinet ?

I hope that one day i may organize a retro party in Italy too....

What are Brian "6502dude" and Golan "gklinger" doing with a laptop ?
it wasn't a retro party ?

wireless connection problems ?!?!

I'm waiting for a while hoping to meet all of you but at midnight (CET time) i went to sleep.

Centallica, any photo with girls too ? :D

How about a big thank you to you, Centallica, for a wicked party. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Busted. I started off showing 6502dude some of the other neat hardware projects out there (like the RS232 and 8-in-1 cartridges designed by Fotios) and then I had to get my eBay fix. I hadn't bought anything in a few days and I was starting to get the shakes. :)
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Perhaps it is a good idea to go eBay hunting while on a retro meeting like that. At least a few of your competitors will be busy doing other stuff, and you can monitor so that noone else also sneaks onto the 'Bay.

What an interesting site. Strange. I cannot even find what CGCC stand for on their pages. California Gambling Control Commission? Chinese General Chamber of Commerce?
High Scores, Links, and Jeff's Basic Games page.
