Thanks for helping me figure this out. It was advertised as dual mono audio.
Here's a link to the actual auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331831859544?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
The seller has not responded to any messages. It worked when I first connected it. I did attempt to remove either the white or red lines. I also tried the cable through more than one channel on the switch box as well as directly to the front and back inputs of the tv.
I feel like I should open something up. Should I just assume the seller has no intention to respond and take the cable apart? Do you think it could be some kind of faulty soldering inside that I could attempt to repair?

Re: Video Diagnostic needed
You don't need to open to check. Use a multimeter on continuity mode. Check the:
1) 3x RCA outer sleeves with the middle pin on the 5P DIN (optional also outer sleeve)
2) Centre of yellow should map to left of the middle pin on the 5P DIN
3) Centre of white & red (Ideally) should map to the audio pin (top right) 5P DIN
If you can't get a beep for continuity on this, then the mapping is not as expected. You should however get a beep on all wires. If not then you need to open it up, but repairing is a pain. Personally I'd snip the wire and start again with a new 5P DIN plug.

Re: Video Diagnostic needed
you can make a 'poor mans' MM with a LED & battery (& resistor if more than 3 volts)
