Yeah Chuckie Egg is sorely missed from the vic 20.

I add ANT ATTACK to the wish list.

If you're taking requests, I bet Fairlight would be a crowd pleaser.

Wow. This is a really good port. I haven't played that in 30 years (the C64 version).
I must admit I almost never play games, but this is a nice one!

Thanks!
I was pretty happy with how it turned out - I was surprised how easily the rooms could be converted from 32x16 to 22x16...

This is really cool. A very nice port, but you say no NTSC support even though it seems to run fine in vice, just lacking the controls to adjust the screen, or is that more trouble than I think it is and would change timing for software sprites etc?

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port
Yeah, the second one
There's not a lot of time left in the frame to move sprites around. It's not obvious until you get to later levels with more enemies.

Great conversion. Much, much better than the C16 copy I owned back in the day. I had thought this game would have worked well on a 24 column screen (6/8 pixel ratio) but you've proven that the screen size doesn't matter at all. To be honest I'm still absolutely hopeless at playing it...
..on the aside, I once started a conversion of Chuckie Egg for the Vic (from the BBC version). I couldn't think of a way around the colour clash on the ladders that I liked. Some people are nostalgic for attribute clash - not me...
Well done again, this is quality.

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port
Thanks!
I did briefly consider 6 pixel blocks, but the colour clash would have been pretty terrible. Instead I scaled the jumps by 6/8.
I'm pretty hopeless at it too - I must have died 100 times making the youtube walkthrough.
For Chuckie Egg my plan was (is?) to defer to the BBC for maps and the Spectrum for colour clash.

Welcome back, Victragic! Been a long time. Good to see you here again.

Good to be home, so to speak. I'm drawn back in by Manic Miner and Popeye, both excellent conversions.tokra wrote:Welcome back, Victragic! Been a long time. Good to see you here again.
